The Best Candles for Long Evenings
Rank the candles you'd want for a long evening at home, then vote the order into shape. One rule decides what's eligible, and it's the half carrying the weight here: the maker's own product page has to name the wax, the wick, or both. Name neither and you're out, and that is why Diptyque isn't here: its signature candle page gives a burn time and a weight, then never says what's burning. After that, items sit in coarse groups by what the candle is for: the big vessel for a whole evening, the everyday jar for after dinner, tapers for a table, a pillar for a dish, a tin for a bedside table. The groups aren't a quality ladder, and nothing is ranked against anything outside its own group. Where two land in the same group, the page naming both wax and wick opens above the page naming one. Past that, the order is an opening position, not a verdict. Wax melts, diffusers, room sprays and candle holders are different objects and stay out.
Brooklyn XL 3-Wick Candle is #1 on “The Best Candles for Long Evenings”.

Brooklyn XL 3-Wick Candle
Three wicks across the top, and "Net Wt: 27 oz" on the spec line — a big vessel, and a lot of candle to work through. Brooklyn Candle Studio names the wax as 100% soy and the wicks as lead-free cotton, and gives burn time as "Up to 100 hours" — the maker's own ceiling, not a promise of a hundred. Lighting one wick and calling it done rather misses the design.

Jungle Bloom Candle
Big enough to be the light in the room rather than a thing beside it, which puts it with the big vessels. LAFCO puts a figure on the larger of two sizes — "the 15.5 oz size burns for 90 hours" — with a 6.5 oz version listed on the same page. The wax is a soy blend and the wicks are "100% cotton wicks" in the maker's words. Decide which size before you order.

P.F. Candle Co. Teakwood & Tobacco Standard Candle
All four of the specs you'd go looking for are on this page: "100% domestically-grown soy wax", "cotton-core wicks", 7.2 OZ, and a "40–50 HOUR BURNTIME" left as a range because that is how P.F. Candle Co. wrote it. Woody rather than sweet, going by the pairing in the name. The 7.2 oz standard pour is the everyday jar at its plainest, sized for a side table.
P.F. Candle Co. Teakwood & Tobacco Standard Candle24 USDOur soy candles are simple: they're all made with 100% domestically-grown soy wax, fine fragrance oils, and cotton-core wicks — all hand-poured by our team in sunny Los Angeles. Coco Blossom
You get the middle path on wax here: Otherland lists a "Coconut & Soy wax blend" and a "100% Cotton Wick" on the same page. Burn time arrives with its ceiling attached — "up to 55-Hour Burn Time" — so read that as a maximum rather than a figure to plan around. One wick and no more, which makes it an everyday jar you light when you sit down, not when you pass through.

Cotton Magnolia
Stated flat, with no range and no "up to": "45 hour burn time". Keap makes it with coconut wax, gives the size as 7.4oz, which is everyday jar territory, and describes the vessel as "a reusable glass tumbler", which is the part you keep once the wax has gone. The wick material isn't named anywhere on the page, so it clears the rule on the wax half alone.

So Vanilla
Ask this page what the wick is made of and you'll come away empty; it isn't stated. What Boy Smells does name is the wax, a "US farmed soy blend", and the burn, given as "50+ hour burn time" — open at the top rather than capped. Vanilla is the entire brief, and it's an everyday jar doing it. Before each lighting the maker asks you to trim the wick to 1/4".

The Classic Candle Abd El Kader
Here's the border case, and it gets in on the half of the rule it does satisfy. The page never names the wax, calling the formulas "the fruit of specific developments" instead, but it says plainly: "The wicks are made of cotton." That's the wick half, so it stays. At 270g / 9.5 oz it sits with the everyday jars on size, and the burn is given as "55 to 60 hours".

Pure Beeswax Taper Candles, Standard (12" x 7/8"), Natural
Twelve inches by seven-eighths, with "Burn time: 12 hours" printed right beside the size — a single number, no range, no hedge. Big Dipper Wax Works names the wax "100% Pure Beeswax" and the wick "100% Cotton (Lead & Metal-Free)". Buy a holder that grips a 7/8-inch base before the tapers turn up, because a loose taper leans and a leaning taper drips on the table.

12" Dipped Taper Candle Beeswax Single Candle
A rate instead of a total, which is an unusual way to publish a taper's burn: Root Candles gives the figure as "1 hour per inch" and leaves the arithmetic to you. The wax is described as "beeswax enhanced" with no percentage attached, so read that as a component rather than a composition — a border case that gets in because the page also names wicks "made of 100% natural fibers".

Natural Beeswax Heritage Drip Pillar Candle
Drips run down the outside by design here, so stand it on something you don't mind. Honey Candles describes it as "Handmade with 100% pure Canadian beeswax", with wicks made with cotton. Three heights share the page and each carries its own published range: "45-55 Hours / 60-70 Hours / 90-100 hours" as the pillar gets taller.

Charcoal Mini Tin Candle
On a bedside table or a desk, three ounces is about right. Apotheke states "3 oz. (85 g)" in a lidded tin, gives the wax as a soy wax blend and the wick as "Cotton wick", and publishes "Approximate Burn Time: 120-140 hours" — approximate is the maker's own word, and it's a large figure for a small tin. Lid back on when the evening's done.
